FireStack Kiln
Know your project margin while you can still fix it.
In most construction and project firms, there is a two-week gap between a purchase on site and the booked line in accounting. So your project managers buy against numbers that are already stale, and a single Kostenstelle blows quietly until the margin is gone. We close that gap, without a new ERP and without leaving DATEV. This is not a tool against typing work. It is real-time protection for your project margin.

Every invoice, allocated the moment it arrives
A kiln cures raw material into something solid. Kiln does that to your invoice data.
We read every incoming invoice as it lands, allocate each line item to the right project and Kostenstelle, and update a live margin view your project manager can actually trust. E-invoices (ZUGFeRD and XRechnung) are parsed deterministically from the XML: mathematically exact, with no AI guessing on your financial data.
Only legacy PDFs touch a language model, and that model runs EU-hosted under an Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag, so your financial data never leaves the EU. Anything the system cannot confidently allocate does not slip through. It is flagged for a human.
A first live deployment, not a six-week build
One real project · live in days · proof on your real invoices
We do not start with a big build. We start with one of your live projects and prove the result on your real invoices. The first deployment covers one project, one ingestion inbox, and your top recurring suppliers: both e-invoice XML and legacy PDF, with line-item allocation to that project's Kostenstellen, flowing into a live margin sheet your project manager watches.
What it does not include yet, by design: the full master-project list, the DATEV booking export, and every supplier. Those belong to the production rollout, scoped once the first deployment has earned your trust. If this catches one silently overrunning Kostenstelle on one project, it has paid for itself many times over.
You don't need a new ERP to see your margin
Real-time project cost tracking is not new. The large German Bau-ERPs do it, and they do it well, if you migrate your whole operation onto them and carry the cost and the rollout that comes with it. For a firm of 11 to 50 people, that is a lot of system to buy to solve one operational problem.
At the other end sits your DATEV flow. It books your invoices correctly and hands clean data to your Steuerberater, but it is built to book, not to allocate every line item against the live budget of a specific building site.
Kiln is the layer in between. It gives you the real-time margin view without replacing your accounting, your Steuerberater, or your ERP, because you do not need one. German e-invoice native and EU-hosted, it feeds your existing DATEV flow instead of forcing a new one. We bring the technology, your Steuerberater keeps the booking logic.
Built for the mandate, not against it
From 2027, larger firms must issue structured e-invoices; from 2028, all of them. So nearly every invoice reaching you will soon be machine-readable. The only question is whether that data works for you on the day it arrives, or gets retyped two weeks later. Reliable by design, EU-hosted by default.
Who this is for
A construction or project firm, roughly 11 to 50 people: big enough that margin is decided on site every day, small enough that a full Bau-ERP is more system than you want. If your invoice volume is tiny, or you already run everything through an ERP you love, this is not for you, and we will tell you so.
See your real margin, while you can still act on it
Start with a Systems Audit. We map your invoice flow, your projects and your cost codes, and confirm whether the first deployment will pay off. It counts toward your deployment if you proceed.
